Qué absurda puede ser la vida.
Tanta violencia, tanta enfermedad, tanta pobreza.
Una venta de flores en una esquina iluminada en medio de la noche;
Un hombre con una afeitada fresca en una silla al lado del tráfico;
Unos pequeños jugando con barriletes en la calle;
Una pareja de ancianos tomados de la mano;
(translation attempt):
Those of us left, are we who can smile
Those of us left, are we who can smile
Life can be so absurd.
Too much violence, too much sickness, too
much poverty.
Too much of everything, and too much of
nothing.
Too many guns, too
much destruction, too much forgetfulness.
Too much lack of love, lack of
empathy, and tolerance.
And yet, life goes on… there is
resilience, there is hope.
Reasons to go on, reasons to live and give.
A flower sale in a lit corner in the
middle of the night;
A man with a fresh shave sitting on a
chair next to traffic;
Some little ones flying kites in the
street;
An elderly couple holding hands;
A young girl smiling with her little brother,
with one of those complete smiles…
“Those of us left, are we who can
smile, in the midst of death, in full light, in full light”.
We have so much to give, so much to do
